Young Daniel and his mom move to Los Angeles. He meets a girl there at his school whose ex-boyfriend Johnny is a bully who is being trained at Cobra Kai dojo for karate. Daniel’s life turns upside down as Johnny and his friends keep harassing and beating him up. One day things get to the worst of all when Daniel tries to fight back. Johnny and his friends, group against Daniel and just when they were about to beat him up an old Mr. Miyagi shows up to save Daniel. Mr. Miyagi is Daniel’s new apartment’s handyman who is also a trained martial artist. Daniel decides to persuade Mr. Miyagi and learn karate from him. Initially against this idea, Mr. Miyagi refuses to teach him karate but later agrees to train him as he gets to know that Daniel has to face a karate competition and fight against Johnny. Daniel discovers life and purpose through his training. In the end Daniel wins the tournament.

The 2010 version of The Karate Kid is a reboot of the original martial arts flick. It stars young Jaden Smith as Dre Parker who moves to China with his mom where he is bullied by a Kung Fu prodigy Cheng. Luckily Dre’s apartment maintenance man – Mr. Han is also a trained Kung Fu expert who decides to train Dre so that he can stand up for himself. The duo’s training course brings them very close and both of them learn new things with help of each other. Dre fights in the final tournament against Cheng and his friends. Despite being severely injured, Dre beats Cheng in the finale and wins the tournament. In the end, we see Cheng and his friends bowing down in front of Mr. Han as an act of respect.
